People pretty much go south of it to Lake Palourde. The canals around it has nice Sacs and bream in it.
Anybody know how the fishing is around grassy lake south of verret? For whatever reason, is like to try it out. I haven't came across anyone that fishes it much. Just looks like a potential good spot.

I used to fish it all the time.....launch at Attakapas and fish south Verrett, 4 Mile Bayou, Grassy lake, bayou Sherman, Bayou Cheramie and Union canals...and Belle River....Grassy lake is very similar to Verrett....I love it during the colder months for sacs and bass...when it gets hot, the gar take over....also, sometimes it gets to shallow to fish around the cypress knees....Bayou Magazille has water deep enough to hold some sacs....4 Mile is deep also...deep water is the key to finding fish in that area...Belle River may be good all year....don't forget to check out Bayou Felix....caught lots of bass and sacs there....
It used to be my favorite place but the hurricanes from Katrina to Gus messed it up so I started fishing Henderson plus it's much closer to the house....

Supposed to have high high winds Saturday. 15-25mph. If anyone goes be safe.
hey Basin, most people fish the bayous off grassy and Verret. if you planning to out this weekend be careful of the wind those lakes get rough real fast!! if just looking to go in the area may want to try Grand bayou/Bayou corne area are the Cracker Head. Have not been haring reports lately but a few weeks ago they were catching some nice bass also heard the catfish was starting to turn on.
