Snakes don't really bother me, I feel like I am in their territory anyways. If they are in your house that is one thing, but shooting a snake out on a lake is kinda messed up. Would bet 90% of those "cottonmouths" shot are watersnakes

Friends don't let friends buy Taurus ... Go with a Smith & Wesson Governor instead.

For sure, even cottonmouths have their place in nature. The ones I eliminate are those I encounter on trails I, my kids, and grandkids use on our own property...and every single one is a certified cottonmouth, copperhead, or rattler.

Certainly true. Living on the river out in the country as I do, I know which is which. All my dogs have been bitten - Tal (fishervet) will testify because he has treated all of them. We will empty out a box a shells, if not more, every season on them. The 22LR revolver pistol works just fine, we use it regular.

I just saw an ad about CCI shotshells for centerfire cartridges. I have some of the old type that are like birdshot (#8) but these are no. 4 shot and are more lethal than the ones I used to shoot. I just bought a SW Bobyguard 38spl+p with Crimson Trace. It might be pretty deadly on varmints with the no.4 shot and the laser dot.

They kill em dead, I used to load snake shot loads in 38 Spl for my brother, I used whatever shot I had, usually # 6 or 7 1/2. If you're a hand loader, you can buy the Speer plastic capsules and load your own a heck of a lot cheaper than buying 5 pack.
