You need to ask Norbert Leblanc.Sorry I just had to promote an old friend of mine.
I haven't been there in awhile and was wondering how bad the hydrilla was right now. Earlier in the year it was so bad half the lake was unfishable out of my boat.
Thanks.

Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.

I fished it two weeks ago and it was horrible. Can hardly find a place to put your bait in the water!
Thanks for the info, that's what I thought. Just looking for a place close to Lafayette(Broussard) to take my 5 year old for a boat ride and do some simple fishing with crickets and worms. Spanish lake is a joke and I won't eat anything out of the Vermilion. I've got a small, fiberglass center-console and I could go out to the bay, but I was just looking for some calm, freshwater fishing nearby. I've never fished Henderson, but I guess I should get familiar with it.
Lots of nice places in Henderson to catch a bunch of panfish. Was planning on going this weekend but it won't stop raining. Will try next week

I took my kids last weekend to Henderson and fished the south flats . ( in between Kerns and I-10) We had a nice time and at this water level you can really get into the trees better than usual. The scenery is very nice there also. We caught bream on crickets. Lake Fausse Pointe around the park with crickets and worms we usually bag some bream and catfish. It's about 45 min from Lafayette.
I made a quick trip to Martin a couple of weeks ago, just to test a few things on the boat. Grass is bad, not sure how it is by the duck blinds mid-lake, probably not worth going to find out.
