As hard as bluegill fight I believe a 3 pounder would jerk me out of the boat!
I love the gills, catching and eating. I like them scaled and then fileted as well as on the bone. They are a little work but well worth it.
I just read in the Louisiana Sportsman Magazine on line version, that someone caught a possible new state record bluegill. It weight in at 1.83 pounds and was caught in Iatt Lake. There have been much bigger ones caught and recorded but they redid the records some years back and all the big ones were put aside. I knew the fellow, OJ Eschete who held 3rd place at one time with a 3 pound plus bluegill. He had it mounted and on display at the sporting goods store where he worked here in Houma. That fish was almost as wide as he was long and beautifully mark with his red belly.

U may want to move fire extinguisher toward the front of boat. Was reading regs on that and it stated store toward front of boat. Generally all fires start in back of boat. Looks like y'all had a great time! Keep it up!

He should be ok with where it is at.. The regs just say "Extinguishers should be placed in an accessible area where they can be reached immediately. Be sure you know how to operate them and inspect them regularly." His boat is a tiller handle operated and he would be sitting right next to it in case of a fire.
You can't fish with a hung line!shadow LIKED above post
