Default Found a Gage for White Lake

I've been putting together some links for the Mermentau Basin stages and I came across
    USGS 294717092250000 CRMS0568-H01-RT.

Why couldn't they give it a name that folks could relate too.
I had to dig a lot to find out where that was and it's in the marsh on the North East side of White Lake (the lake). I hate the way they named the White Lake reserve the same as the name of the lake. To places with the same name.

Anyway it's on the White Lake preserve property just east of Clear Lake which is really a little bay off of White Lake.

There is a lot of information there and I think it will be a help for anyone fishing the lower Mermentau basin.

Hey fishervet scroll down on that chart page and look at the Specific Conductance. You are a man of science so maybe you can tell what that would mean to anybody. The way I interpret it I should fish tomorrow.

Interesting that they post data on Specific Conductance. Haven't seen that before on the USGS gauges. It relates to the salinity somewhat, but more specific to the TDS (total dissolved solids) or turbidity. In general, it tells you how dirty/cloudy the water is.

so...on the s.c. chart....the higher the number on left of graph , the more clean/clear the water is?

The opposite, the lower the conductivity (specific conductance), the cleaner the water is. For example, salt water has probably a million times the conductivity of deionized water. For that gauge, the lower it is, the cleaner the water. That is way too cool that they record that on the gauge. I would like to see that more often on other gauges.

I see it on only 3 of the gauges that I follow and they are all salt water related. The White Lake one is probably because of salt concerns for rice farmers. All 3 also have salinity charts too.
