Default My first post from Black Lake

Hello to all my fellow fishermen and women, this is my first post. I joined CDC several weeks ago after seeing a bunch of y'all fishing on Black Lake up on the Stretch. My wife and I got us a small hunting camp on Black Lake bayou a couple miles north of the Stretch last summer and we were wearing out the specks in Jan and Feb, then the rains came in. Our camp is on a hill 300ft from the lake and we got waist deep water in it. All of our fishing time has been exchanged for ripping out rotted wet wood, insulation and replacing floors and walls. We should be finished by this weekend and the water level is getting back right. We're so ready to get back to fishing! All these days stuck at work day dreaming of "feeling the thump" has been made easier by all the great post I've been reading from a bunch of y'all. Can't wait to get back on the lake and maybe meet some of y'all on the water.

Welcome to C.C. My wife and I can't wait to get back on Black Lake. Maybe we will see you there. We have a red Triton with a 90 Mercury.
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

Thanks maxwell328, we love it out there! I've got a little stick steer maroon and grey kingfisher with a white Johnson outboard but with all the down time after work and the boat out of the water I started sanding it down and I'm about to paint it camo. I'll post a report as soon as I get to fish again. I can't even see my boat launch yet!Name: uploadfromtaptalk1459969237744.jpg

Size: 42.9 KBfrom my boat 3 weeks ago, I can drive my truck up to the camp now. Our neighbors lower down the hill from us got it much worse. The red house (known as the Block House built in 1939) is a 2 story house and the blue camp is 8' off the ground (Again these pics are 3 weeks ago)

No sir, it's no fun at all but I sure appreciate your concern. I would also like to tell you that it's an honor to hear from you sir! I have been reading every post that I see from Louisiana and it seems that you always have something nice to say to everybody! I definitely feel welcome now, thank you!
