I want to give a very special thanks to Pastor, first for allowing me to fish with him in his boat, and second for putting up with me. The fishing wasn't great but the friendship shared and gain more than made up for the lack of fish biting. Not everyone would want to fish with a preacher but with Pastor it was easy and I'd do it any day again. He even made it easy to keep my tongue civil and say a few "praise the Lord'' and "Amens" along the way. It was two beautiful days to be on the water and I must say I couldn't have shared it with a better person.

I'm sure glad that Pastor got to pick the prize that he wanted, one of the Jas Robertson custom duck calls which he unselfishly did not want for himself but for someone else. I'm glad his name was pulled while one of the two calls were still available because if I had been call first and the call was available I would have pick it for him even though I had my heart on the Engel bait cooler or a BnM SharpShooterSix rod. As it worked out all were happy, Pastor got the duck call, Cajun Dave got my cooler and I got the SharpShooter rod. All is well.

My wife and I had a great time also the People was Great and The Food ( WOW ) it was awesome Both nights was a lot of fun and I hope to make a lot more of these. We did not do to well on the fishing but Finely meeting some of these people I read about so often was Great I cant wait till the next one. Thank all of you for setting this up for our group and I hope you all have a safe travel home.

PawPaw, that post blessed my heart. I too enjoyed the weekend. I too am glad to know Pastor. Saturday was my son Juicy's 31st birthday and we got to spend it on the water together.

Thanks for your kind words, Mr. Gene. It was a pleasure sharing my boat with you on Friday and with you and your son-in-law on Saturday. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about depth finders with me. You really helped me to understand my new units much better and I appreciate you. You are what being a Crappie.Com member is all about; helping each other and sharing information. All during the Gathering, every time I turned around I saw or heard someone helping someone else. Everywhere I looked people were helping with cooking and clean-up or giving advice on which lure to use or where to fish. This group of people is a very unselfish group of people.

And I thank the Lord for the duck call. I have been hoping to get one of them since I saw them posted. I do not duck hunt and have no intention of keeping it. As soon as I saw Doc post a picture of them I told my wife I wanted one of them to give my son-in-law as a Christmas present. He loves to duck hunt and I know he will cherish it for years to come. Perhaps it will be passed down to my 2 month old grandson some day.
