    Default Henderson advice/help

Hello. I'm going tomorrow to henderson and I've never been. Im new to sac-a-lait fishing also. Ive been to bayou sorrel 5 times..caught about 23 total sacs. I fish with cork and jigs. Im trying to learn to fish slip bopper. Anyhow im putting in at the landing between the interstate. Any advice on how to fish this place? I'm not asking for honey holes or anything just some tips about how to fish it. Been disappointed my last few trips so wanting to try a new area. Thanks for all of ya'lls help! You folks have been very kind to me and my silly questions!

Check your email (not CDC).....just sent you some info.....

At the launch, be sure to pull off on the right shoulder to get your boat ready to launch before you pull up to put in.....that way you do not hold up others......

Whenever you stop & fish, try shallow and deep....if you don't catch in 10 minutes, move on.....some one on here suggested that one and I am trying to incorporate it into my strategies......

Can't help you there. I'd read some of the post from there. Sac DA has a post today. Shouldn't be hard to duplicate. IMO

    Scotty,
The best advise I can give u is ask Ranger-go-getter...other than that the few I caught today were on the deeper stumps and treetops in north bigeaux and pelba. I wouldn't fight the wind again; I'd head up bayou fordoche or fuseleax and try to get out of the wind!
    Good luck!

Yes up north bayou bayou Fuslier. And lil fourduch. Down trees and deep water stumps. I was fishing about 4-7 ft deep in 11 ft of water. Using d&m
Hair jigs. I don't use slip corks can't see if you get a hit on the way down. I'm using anything with grey

I bombed out yesterday at Henderson. The wind was unreal. I was on the north side...lots of boats..talked to 4 people no one had any sac-a-lait just a few bass. I didnt find any 11ft water..All the water I came across was 4-5ft. Only caught a couple. Never had been there before. I hate being new at something..drives me bonkers.

You did good catching the couple....do not be so hard on yourself...the sacs will come and when they don't bite...other fish will, and the tug on the line will satisfy you.....and oh yeah...have fun.....

Thanks fishervet for your encouraging words! I have been frustrated lately because i'm not catching many sac-a-lait. Its my inexperience that is holding me back. I dont know if this is the "off" season for sac-a-lait or what. I'm going fishing Sunday but I'm not sure where. I'm leaning towards lake verret because I know that place the best...or I might go back to Bayou Sorrel.
