I was wondering about ya'll yesterday when that bad storm came in. It rained hard here. Least you guys got home happy.
Well, time for the good, the bad, and the ugly.
In reverse order,
The ugly was the weather. Got started a little before eight o'clock scanning for fish and couldn't spot any. We tried drifting minnows anyway to no avail. When we finally found some fish the weather hit and it hit hard and fast. We ran for the I-10 bridge which we weren't far from. When we got there it looked like a Wal-mart parking lot. We hunkered down for a while letting the lightning pass us by Then we fished our way back to the launch waiting for the rain to let up. It never did but got light enough for us to pick up, not that it made any difference as we were already soaked.
The bad was no fish, period. Not one bite. I did get one good tug on my line but that was because I got too close to the troll motor. It gave a good fight then broke off.
The good was by the time we drove to Crawfish Town in Henderson for the weigh-in the rain was gone and the skies were clearing. Also good was the food at the weight-in and the great door prizes we received. We had a good time except for ducking the lightening which didn't last too long. We got home safely and happy.

as a footnote, some fish were caught and a few anglers went home a lot richer than when they arrived
