Default Toledo Bend Still a Guessing Game For Me!

I have not been able to go much for lots of reasons of which some were just weather! However I did get out Friday and my neighbor and I got 32 nice ones and should have had more, but we started out fishing my favorite way even though I had already decided I was going to need to fish different. Once we changed we started to catch!

Anyway then the front came through and it was pretty darn cool and windy Saturday and the hig things was the fish caught a case of lock jaw! I couldn't believe we only caught one small crappie and he also caught 2 bass that were link 4" long each, LOL!He went for a little while yesterday and only got one, but the rain and wind picking up he loaded his boat and went home until next weekend.Seems staringe to me the way they are acting and my long lining has either been in the wrong water depth or something, but he fish are not were they are most every year!

Seems casting for me is a must and I cast so little normally my shoulders both were in pain my the end of that day, LOL! It did work though!

Casting is how I like to do it. I'm pretty much in form now. Every year it takes a couple trips to get right. Still can't flip very good though. And that is a form of casting not gymnastics. Can you picture me flipping.

Skip, My buddy and I caught 75 in two days last week, tight lining in two foot of water. Not a bunch, but most of them were huge. We fished the north end.

When he caught those 32 I bet he was long lining his own tied road runners, his favorite way. Been with him more than once doing that right above the grass. He fishes out of six mile. When I go next week I'm going to start on them against the bank in the grass mid lake - we'll see.

Long lining as I understand from another friend was good Thursday, but not Friday. Go figure! We caught them I. 2' to 6' water and some really nice and a few small, but only a couple females. It made me start thinking maybe I need to check a little deeper to find my kind of stuff, don't know yet though. The friends got 68 between 3 of them, but the dad (my friend) got his limit in a couple hours starting about noon. They were fishing the opposite side of 6 mile than I was. I didn't get to go since, but may tomorrow before the rain starts for the rest of the week.I wish the long lining would have worked, but we couldn't do anything with it. We did see a few guys drifting across a small flat and I guess they were catching fish because they kept at it all day.Tiger how were you tight lining in 2' water? Please tell me more.Skip
