I feel your pain! I made 9 trips resulting in only 3 fish, until Wednesday, when we caught 18 . Hang in there, bro. Keep going.
I've been fishing five times this month (Ivan Lake) and have not had one single bite! I realize the high water affects the fishing, but it seems like I could just accidentally catch one! Tried shallow water, deep water, grassy banks, brushy banks...I'm stumped. Any ideas? Water temps around 62 degrees now.

Same here, yesterday's trip gave up 1 chink, 1 gill, 8 bass. If I was a bass fisherman I would have been in hog heaven yesterday. For about an hour large bass were busting whatever from under the lilies. They would make an explosion that would scare us sometime and they would knock lilies 4 and 5 feet out the way. Here I was stuck with any bass tackle on board. I finally found a large shiner looking bait about 5 inches long that I rigged weedless with a hook I found in the bottom of my box. Third cast on top of the grass and lilies and whamo nice bass. Although my put together lure was weedless it still hung up a lot spoiling many casts. I kept thinking, boy if only I had a mouse or frog bait.....
We finally had enough of the teasing that they were doing to us and left. I guess you know I will put back at least one bass rod and some lures in the boat.

We're expecting even more rain this weekend, somewhere between one and two inches. Lakes and bayous will still be rising.
The water lilies have not started leafing out yet around here. Have seen a few bass fishermen casting into shallows, but they're not doing much good either.

I haven't been doing that great here lately either . Seems most of the spawn is over here . Today I noticed baby fish and minnows skipping around the Lillys . Put on a white pot belly type minnow jig with a chatreuse swim tail and started dragging it through the Lillys and started catching . Ended up with ten and a few big goggle eyes , but by the time I figured them out it had got to hot to fish .
Might go back in the morning and see if that tactic is still working .
