Red face 12-26-14---One Pole, One Jig, One Stump

Last night the weather man said that the 1st part of the day would be good, so I hooked up the boat. When I got up at 5AM it was cloudy and the wind was blowing. I almost went back to bed. I am glad I didn't. I didn't really know where I was going even though I knew I wanted to go to Black Bayou. You see, I had never been there before this morning; I just knew that I was looking for a place called Dee's Landing and that it cost $4.00 to launch.

The first launch I stopped at was free, so I deduced that I was at the wrong place and went looking for Dee's again. When I finally found Dee's I ran past it and had to drive about 2 miles before I could turn around. After waiting my turn to launch, I really had no idea of where to start fishing, but I figured laydowns or stumps would be a good place to start looking. My pattern for was one pole, one jig (red/chartreuse), fished by one stump.

I caught all 10 of my fish in 12-14 feet of water 10 feet deep by one stump. Not 2 stumps, only 1. My big fish was 1lb. 14oz. I also had one at 1lb. 7oz., two at 1lb. 6oz., and one at 1lb. 4oz. The smallest fish I kept was 10 inches long. My 5 biggest fish weighed 7.31 lbs. Needless to say, the Lord blessed me today. Thank You, Jesus, for allowing me to have so much fun. And thank You, Jesus, for the fish that I smell cooking in the kitchen right now. Amen!
