I agree, I got one of the auto inflating ones. Since I fish a lot by myself, I developed a new habit of putting it on before I get in the boat. I don't even notice I have it on!!

I wear the full size when running down the lake and the smaller self inflatable when fishing....2nd most important is use the "kill switch".......that is just as important or more.....

I wear my when I am underway, but am bad about taking it off to fish. What I really hate to see is a 50lb child wearing a life jacket that is too big for me.
It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

Thanks for thinking enough of us to remind us to wear our lifejackets. Probably all of us are guilty of not wearing them from time to time.

And by the way, the self inflatable ones aren't considered a life jacket unless you have it on. So, if the warden stops you and you just have it in the boat, he's gonna give you a birthday present.

Guilty. Will listen and wear. Have auto inflate that sits in my car will start wearing, especially since the lake I fish during the week don't have a lot of other folks on it so I'd be on my own

Most of us paddlers where them all the time. It will at least save folks from having to drag for my old carcass if something tragic happens. I've seen too many body searches in my time all in Vermilion Parish hunting and fishing related.

I wear mine religiously rarely take it off while fishing too, I have two auto inflates on my lil bateau. I also make whoever is with me wear theirs the entire time as wel...
Mr. Bruce has it right too WEAR YOUR KILL SWITCH!!! most boaters with stern drives dont wear them, the same principles still apply just like a tiller handle, if you are thrown from the boat it will still run in circles! I am a huge advocate of safety, one it is my job, two my friend died in my arms on the water, we used to race boats, we had all the proper safety precautions covered, things happen. Please boat safely!
