    Default Jig head color

Hey guys I was wondering if any of you had a preference on jig head color? I know some people swear by a certain color. I am relatively new to this, only been straight white perch fishing for about 3 years now. I have always used the non painted regular lead heads just for the fact that it simplified things for me on the water.

For un-painted jig heads I like the gold plated and the chrome plated jig heads that our C.C sponsor Arkie Lures has.

I have it down to a science. 1/32oz are pink and 1/16oz are chartreuse. Makes it easy for me to know at a glance what I am grabbin or what was bit.

I like the Sickle hooks also, Preferable the red hooks. You can use Powder Paint to make them any color. heat the jig, dip it in the powder thin bake them in the oven, or a Toaster oven but it is time consuming, Rainy day project if I ever saw one. I no longer buy the little painted heads at wall- Mart as the hooks are Brittle and break easily

Thanks guys, I picked up on the sickle hook idea last year. I worked at Toledo Tackle for a while and all the guys sold me on the ones from Austins.

for me a black sickle hook with no color on the head. I just let the jig color do all of the work!! if anything I would paint some eyes on them!
