My buddy has a Pro Crappie '09 model...when his bunks rotted, the dealer told him the reason they don't treat their bunks was that Bass Pro wants to keep good standings with the EPA and not put any chemically treated wood in the water...other alum. boat manufacturers treat theirs...just sayin... I agree,to each his own...Its what a person can afford and how you take care of it.

i have my runners on my trailer covered with "split" fire hose. man talk about durable. and they are not water permeable. might be something to think about. almost everyone knows a fireman, and they just throw out those outdated hosed. just use some staples and put them on the side opposite the boat. works like a charm.

I bought a used 2000 Tracker Pro Team 165 a few years back and it has served me very well. The pedestals were stuck in the holes when I got it, but a little WD40 and some elboe grease and they came out. I cleaned the bases which had some corrision from being left in the holes for a long time. I take then out to trailer the boat and I have not had any further problems with them. I did have to replace my bunks after 10 years and I used treated lumber. Had not heard of this issue with the metal before. I covered them with indoor outdoor carpet and I have trailer slicks on the bunks so I hope that is enough separation, I will keep and eye on the bottom just to be safe.
I have owned several Bass Boats over the years and the Tracker has proven to be the most serviceable of any of them.

acker pro team 165 a few years back and I have not had any problems with it, The pedestals were stuck in the holes when I bought it but a little wD40 and a twist or two and they came right out. I take mine out each time I pull the boat so the seats are not so high and blocking wind(jsut me) so as long as I take them out regularly they come out just fine. I have owned several bass boats over the years and the Tracker is one of the best layout for the money that I have had.
Y'all got me wondering about the bunks though. Mine rotted out after 11 years and I replaced with treated wood. I covered them with carpet and put trailer slicks on the bunks so I have a little separation from the wood. Never heard the issue before so I guess I will keep and eye on the bottom.
Hope it was an environmental issue rather than a corrosive issue though.

the trailer slicks should give enough seperation where you won't have a problem from the PT wood, but never hurts to check things out on a regular basis.

I still enjoy my tracker, its a good boat for me and the frequency that I fish. I do wish for a lower front deck, but not going to try and lower it myself, not that good of a handyman. Would I buy another tracker, sure. But I would look and want to try out other brands as well before I wrote the check. Wish the multi species came in another color other than KY blue.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

I bought a Pro Team 175 tf in September from Letsinger Marine, the last 2011 they had. I mounted a fish finder at the bow today, very easy they have a hot wire prewired from the factory to the bow. Very pleased with mine so far.

I'd be happy to sell one thats not KY blue! Heck, we'll make it the color you want. If you're looking around, give us a look. We've got a 17 ft that feels like a 20ft, an 18' and a 20' that will blow you away. None of which have any wood , anywhere on the boat. Pictures of our 20' can be seen in the Alabama forum under "Weiss Lake Lodge".

Welcome to the site lahotwood. I see you've been a member for some time but this was your first post. Do you live in the Monroe area since you bought at Letsinger? Looking forward to seeing some reports from that new boat.
