Nothing wrong with that johnny. Glad yall did well.
We got out on the lake just after 7 this morning, never started the big motor. Just pushed off the bank and dropped the trolling motor in the water and started fishing. We put in at Youngblood's landing.
Water temp was mid 40's but the air temp was COLD!! We mainly fished from the launch to the curve by Fool's bayou. We caught our fish in 18-20 fow, fishing 13-16 feet deep. Our best colors were black/orange with orange head and red/chartruese with either pink or orange head but the orange head seemed to work better on that one also. We caught several on black/red with red head but I guess 3rd place would have to be the Bobby Garland Blue Ice with a blue head. Like Cyberwolf said in his report, most fish were on the smaller size. The majority of our fish were 9-10 inch fish but we ended with a good bit of nicer fish also. We ended the day with 135 keepers and probably threw back around 50 shorter fish.. I will try and get some pics added tomorrow when we clean them.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Nice catch I'm up in Jena tonight and I'm goingto larto in morning but I only know of one launchand that's phils do you think you could give me directions to the launch you were at . I got a good report of someone catching50 thisafternoon in shad lake with shiners in 20 fow
Seeing reports like yours really makes me want to drag my little flat up to Larto country. Glad you guys had a great day on the water and thanks for sharing this info. I spent today, Saturday, with a good friend chasing Reds in Rockefeller Refuge. It was a slow day but we kept a two man, 10 fish limit of reds that averaged about 19 to 21 inches. Hopefully, sometime this week I can get back to catching a few sac au laits. Have flat bottom/will travel....Bayoucrappie
Glad u caught a bunch,I know them boys enjoyed that.

Thanks for the replies.. We had alot of fun. This was Charlie's first time to deep water fish for Crappie and he caught his biggest crappie to date at 1lb 10oz. I didn't take awhole lot of pics because the scenery don't change when you stay in the same area all day and I didn't have the camera with me, only my cellphone.
In this pic, it's still not very bright outside but you can kinda see the group of boats between the launch and the lake.
Here is one of Charlie with his big fish.
Here are the fish that we took home.
