I was talking to one of my buddies who used to fish the Basin a lot. He said that they would take one of those small donut shaped tubes the kids swim with and gently place it on the water on the grass. Then slowly remove the lilies or salvinia from the inside of the tube. Once it was removed the hole stayed clean and made fishing through it a lot easier. I donno, but it might work.

yeah we have used pvc pipe as well make a square and it stays open but the problem is if the hole gets bigger than 3 inches or so light goes down and they shut down until you cover it up its very weird ppg

jig rig its my favorite stuff to fish always good fish under it.

i surely didnt go to bistineau that was about 400 yards from my dock in the back yard.

I am surprised that is salvania. I have been told by several folks that the plant has such a high metabolic rate that it sucks the oxygen from the water and fish won't get around it at all. If that video doesn't blow that theory out of the water, I don't know what will!! The more I know about fishing, the less I know, lol.

    Default Still learning

This is the reason I go to Crappie.com. There is still so much to learn. Deep water and brush would be what I look for, but if I run across any thing that resembles where you fished, I surely will give it a go. Really great video. Thanks for sharing...:D

Great video and some good information about what to look for when you encounter the salvania. That is one fine mess of fish. I can see why you keep so many 5 gallon buckets around. LOL!!!
:D Bought too cheap and kept too long!!!!:D
