Talking Got to go for a while today!

Finally got a chance to get loose for a few hours today! Went to Pat Mayes Lake after 4 p.m. with my Guide/Friend Allen Ballard. Once again, he shamed me 19-4 but he was using one of these new fangled vibrating rods. All along as he was telling me about this rod on the way to the lake, I was thinking, this boy has dun got scammed! A $185.00 rod that vibrates??? Come on! I can believe in the Bait Pump because it puts a "food taste" in a plastic jig. THAT makes sense! This did not, until I watched Allen haul in one slab after another. (Photos tomorrow) OK...here's the set-up. We both fished side by side on the same side of the boat. We both had the exact same jig. Almost every time he pushed that button on his rod to activate the vibration, he got a bite! He let me use it and he used my rod. Every time I pushed the button when I got the jig down deep enough, wham! We were fishing in 22 foot water, dropping the jig to the bottom and then reeling back up about a foot. I am blown away! Anyone on C.C. heard of the "Buss Blaster" Rod???:confused

I looked all over the internet and I did find the rod your talking about but I couldn't find any reviews on it. It's a very cool concept but I'm wondering if the rods vibration actually goes all the way down to the lure and if that can really increase fishing strikes. I would go out and buy one immediately but I'm one of those people that needs more reviews and testimonials before I plunk down 150 bucks.
I've seen and tried a couple of the vibrating bass lures but it didn't feel to me as if I got more strikes with them or without. I think that if there was an overwhelming benefit to using those types of lures then they would be 500 times more popular than they are now and not just show up on late night infomercials.
I also tried the lure with the red blinking led light and now I actually do think that I got more crappie strikes on that but I lost it somewhere about 2 years ago and I didn't want to spend 10 bucks for another one. I'm a sucker though to try most new things but the $150 rod I need more proof.

    Here's a picture of yesterday's catch.

I'm still not convinced that the Buzz Blaster did anything but the numbers speak for themselves. Allen caught 19 and I caught 5 (one more than previously reported above) We were fishing side by side, at the front of the boat. We were both using the exact same jig and fishing the same depth. Every time he pushed the button, he either got a bite or caught a fish. Hard to figure. He let me use the rod and I caught three of my five while using it. During the same period of time, he didn't get a bite using my rod. In the words of Boudreaux, "Me, I don't know!"
