Chunking spinnerbaits tight against the grass this AM in the northwest pocket of V-Bay. Saw a big (As in BIG!) push a little off the bank, and the bait flew. Too far for a cast, I continued fishing that way, then saw another smaller push. The cast was on, the fish struck, and then all hell busted loose. Several minutes later - and only to save my spinnerbait, I netted a 2 1/2-foot bull shark! I have to assume that it was the small companion of a much larger one!
And a bit later I saw another healthy one just cruising along!
The moral? Don't think about wading/swimming in V-Bay now!
Oh, I did get my redfish limit by eight, but the spinnerbait-caught bull shark was a first!

Congratulations on the shark and the redfish. I saw a show on the Discover channel just a couple of weeks ago about some of the shark species invading fresh and brackish water. I figured they were over-exaggerating. Guess not!

Pastor, bull sharks are apparently very happy in fresh water. Others aren't - thank the Good Lord! Anyway, bull sharks are the bad kind, though they don't get as large as tigers, hammerheads, and such. Good thing!!!
Don't know about the other types moving into fresh water. I guess some could be temporary visitors, but the bull is the main threat.
    And they are that.
    Pass a happy Labor Day.

Cher, I can pose a redfish, a tuna, and a crappie for a fair pic, but I ain't about to try to pose a bull shark - even a small one - when I'm by myself in a boat!
Maybe I'll have another chance when I have a bodyguard along! :D Sure hope not, though! :p
