Yep...it definately sucks!
I just saw an article online at Shreveport Times that Clark's Marina is about to close his doors. Thats gonna be a lot gas burning from Red River south to that area.
Yep...it definately sucks!
Sorry to hear that, I have heard several of yall from up north talk about Clarks. Maybe someone else will open it back up.
You can't fish with a hung line!
but for sure Clarks had the very best minnows around. They always had quality minnows available for the perch fishermen. Sorry to see them close. Maybe someone else will open the place up. Probably will just have a bunch of camps, RV spots and place to tie up houseboats.
:D Bought too cheap and kept too long!!!!:D
:D WALLY:D
Clarks is not closing because of Dennis...if he had his way it would remain open.
Clark's is sitting on leased land...the landowner is ending the lease therefore Dennis has no choice but to close it down!
that may not be all of it BassAdic---
my understanding is clarks has been owned by one of the dixon brothers for a year or so(FM's dad or uncle) I believe. all the high water has put a crimp on business for awhile and Dennis decided to quit running it. Dennis bought it from Joe Clark, Dixon bought it from the bank, Dennis worked for them since they bought it.
word is they may make it a "members only" camp.
If you read this Markham maybe you can set us all straight.
I sure hate to see it close too, the sand has just about isolated it from the river on the south end and the north boat road had always been shallow---so seems like before long clarks may be a "memory".
I'd hate to drive 8-10 miles from Red River South to the oxbows too but we may not have a choice unless you launch from the west side at Bishop Point.

Hate too see them go.
Tree Fishing
well, bishops is always an option. it is on the shreveport side just north of the lock and dam.

Any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a DAD!!
I've never run it, but how far is it by water from Coushatta to around Clarks's or some of the fishing holes in that direction?
Catch and Release: Catch the slabs and Release the little'uns
We ran it once, cruising at about 35 mph, it took us about 30 minutes to get from the Coushatta launch to the Lock #5
