man i sure havent heard of anything like that,,just bass and catfish tourney.....they have a trot line catfish tourney every now and then.
i seem to vaguely remember a crappie (white perch) tournament held on the complex some years back. i believe weigh-in was at the public landing. does anyone recall this tourney? anyone fish it? see the weigh-in, etc???

I don't know anything about it... I know this sunday we're putting on a bream tourny. Nothing official just a couple dozen buddies and I. Should be fun! 5 dollar buy in a think. If someone wanted to do that for crappie i'd be interested!! I'm not gunna pay those crazy amounts the bass tourneys charge though...

There Was A Tourny Put On Over 5 Years Ago By La. Best Crappie Assoc. But Had Only Four Boats Show Up, So It Turned Into A Pot Luck Tourny. They Never Did Return And Now The Assoc. Is Out Of Business.....jim

i have confirmed that there was in fact a crappie tourney on saline/larto some 6 to 8 or so years ago. it was put on as some fundraiser type thing. they actually had over 40 boats show up. they weighed in the best 5 fish. the winners (i don't know their names) had caught over 50 fish and won easily with their best 5 weighing over 9 lbs (not bad for a JUNE tourney). i was told that they donated their cash first place prize, back to the tourney sponsors, which was a nice gesture. i am surprised that none of the "old timers" were aware of this.
dang 20 bucks a boat! that's alittle pricey lol
