    Cool Scouting Trip

I just got off the boat yesterday. I've been keeping in touch with som buddies and they have been catching fish from 8' to 20'. On the ledges and in the bays.

I've just about shook my headache and think I'm gonna go out for a while. I'll let ya know how I did.

    Default Well Here's The Report

Went out against my better judgment after I saw how hard the wind was blowing. I fished from about 11:45 till about 4:30. I gathered up 19. I thought I had a limit but when I got to the fish cleaning station at the dock I had 1 I thought I'd better check. Yep he was about a hair too short so I thru him back.

I cought a lot of small fish. The keepers I had were fair but nothing to brag about. I couldn't fish were I wanted to due to the wind. Water Temp was 64 and the lake was steady. Most fish came outa 10' to 12' of water fishn 8' to 10' deep.

I had to work hard for what I got. Not a great day but better than work.

    Hey Wiskers,
I have been fishing North Ky. Lake and have been doing the same. 60 fish 10 keepers. I watch all the tugs prowling and often wonder if that was your boat. Wanting to get a UHF radio to talk to the boats and see what is going on. What boat you on? PM your phone some time and I will give you a shout. I have a place in Grand Rivers and know some pilots in the area. Take care and hope that headache leaves you !!

    He's right on the money.

As for the water temp on kentuckylake.com. I don't ever trust that temp. I use KY Lake Surface Water Conditions . I also have found discrepencies in there river level info. I look on the website and it might say 355.2 and I read the guage at Ky. lock and it might say 354.3 or something. I go with the guage at the lock. That dipstick don't lie. I don't know if they just don't update the site often enough or what. I just know its rarely right. JMHO.

I've heard that the temp. you get on kentuckylake.com is taken at the dam. My theory on this (being a riverman) is it might be right there but it is probably "new water" from down south. If you'll notice in the winter the bays will freeze sometimes but the water in the main lake is a little warmer.

I could be wrong but it's the best I can come up with. :D
