They pulled lakes back down to winter pool and water is still in the low 50’s, they are nowhere near the spawning grounds at the moment. Once the water starts coming up and warming a little they will move back quick.

I started my guide trips Friday. Started out power trolling with roadrunners behind 2 oz weights. Ran several hours without a sniff. Not even a yellow. Switched over to Pico cranks and started catching fish.

We started attracting a crowd and had to move off the fish to avoid confrontations with idiots who think it’s a good thing to pull in front of us and put out 37 minnow rigs.

I have ran cranks the last two days along creek channel breaks. We have not been tearing it up but several small keepers each day. Big fish in the boat was14.5”. Kids both days lost big fish.

I’ve been pulling Pico INTs and Bomber 6As ( don’t bother trying to buy any, no longer made) at 30-80 feet back. Colors all over the place.

In two days out, I saw two crappie caught by other boats. One of those was Livescope. Water temps are 52-56. Long way from spawn for fish we have caught.
