Yes it does !! Though ... it can be a hard lake to pattern them on.
Herrington was where I first learned how deadly "Vertical Casting" can be. There was a large Sycamore tree that had gotten lodged against the cliff wall, just a short way down the bank from the "Ghetto" (what we used to call the floating house/dock that burned down recently). Tie up to that tree, drop a Popeye jig down about 12-15ft deep, then reel it back up "very slowly" and THUMP .... you'd have a 1lb-1.5lb Crappie on. If I'd have had the equipment & know-how ... I'd have secured that tree with cables !! Unfortunately, shortly after the trips I made to fish that tree, it was gone.
I've Crappie fished Herrington since I was a kid, and the Crappie I caught out of that tree were the biggest I've ever caught there.
