Amen to that brother! Awesome post. U had a good trip. Thanks for sharing.
I remember first starting to figure out how to fish for crappie on KY lake and always would come to this forum looking for any information and always asking people at the ramp. And I've learned a ton from this forum for sure, but fisherman are tight lip. And I use to think, man, I don't want your fish or where you're fishing, I just want to know what you're doing to catch them. Not particular spots, where exactly your fishing, but maybe what colors or what depth just to get me started.
At the time, I nothing to offer. But I've been fishing on the lake for 8 years now and thought I would try and "pay it forward".
I fished for the last three days and had 39 keepers and catching 75+ fish. If my dad didn't teach me some ethics about being a sportsman, I probably would've had 60+ keepers! I had that many right at 10".
Caught fish anywhere from 8-12ft of water on pink and chartruse and black and chartruse. That seem to be the only color that worked for me. It was one here and one there, and I had to work to get what I got. I only had one time that I had a double, which tells me they're still scattered or I was using the wrong color or depth. At the end of the day, I'll take what I got and it looks like the fish are on the move for sure. If we can get some good weather, the fishing should be really good in the coming weeks.
There ain't nothing better being on the lake, even if you're in a rain suit!
