Great report, looks like a fun day for all.
Was planning on heading to Cumberland this weekend but after hearing some dismal reports from some of my buddies and seeing the lake was being pulled....hard, I decided just to say close to home and hit Woods Creek Lake. I don't fish there alot and typically catch some there but they are on the small side. I took my son, his friend, and his friend's Dad and had a very enjoyable day on the water. Most everyone we talked to was struggling but we got on one stretch of bank (and really one big tree) that had them. We caught maybe 30 or so with 14 keepers. Luck is typically the only way I can catch them.
Kids wanted to bass fish as well so we went back and hit an area that is good for numbers (no size) for an hour and caught 13 bass as well. The tall one is my boy. His friend had never caught a crappie before and he had the biggest at a little over 13". He also stuck something really big on a minnow that wrapped him in a shallow limb. Don't know what it was but it was either a very large crappie or a really nice bass based on the boil it made.
This is the first mess of crappie I've brought home this year. Last trip we only had one keeper. Caught about 50/50 on jigs/minnows.
