    Default Yatesville lake, eastern ky

Does anyone fish the lake regularly? I live in Ashland but yatesville is really my closest bet for crappie. I usually only fish the back water next to the main road by the marina because my boat is too small to take out on the big part of the lake. The only time I tried, the wind blew me clear to the other side by the spillway and I had to flag down a stranger to go get my truck, and help me drag my boat up the hill. Scary experience. So my question is, does anyone know if there are other ramps or access points where I can fish from my boat and catch crappie without having to go terribly far from the ramp?
    Thanks again!

Have you tried twin branch? It says it's for smaller boats. That's probably what I'm going to try tomorrow

Twin Branch would be a great place for you to try but it is a tricky ramp to find. It is extremely isolated. I am not sure if there is enough water there this time of year to launch a boat with the lake drawn down. The Corps usually starts catching water about April 1. Once the lake comes up Twin Branch and Rich Creek would be your best bet with Twin Branch offering the best area close to the ramp for you but again that is a very isolated ramp and I am not sure how well they maintain the ramp or parking area. It would be worth a look prior to trailering a boat down there. If your boat is small enough to slip in the back of your pickup then you should be able to drag your boat into the water. That is a deep hollow so wind will not be a big problem.

I tried greenbrier creek today. Love the area, but only caught 1 small fish. Should do better when it warms up tho. Didn't get a single hit when the sun went away.
