Use cheap baitcast reels, you can pick them up for 20 bucks or so on Ebay. I've had mine going on 5 years, no issues what so ever.
I'm having trouble with my reels on my spider rig rods. I'm done fooling with them. So, I was wondering what kind of reels everyone else uses. I'm pretty set on goin back to 500 series spinning reels. Who makes the best reel?
Thanks guys.

I use Zebco micro 11's. They are not spinning reels but they are cheap, 15-20 bucks new.
I use bait casters with thumb bar.
I tried all the normal types, I now use ice fishing reels, good drag, no line twist, and uses very little line.
The Shimano IX2000RC is one of my favorites, hard to beat at around $13.
Bubba we use shimano spinning reels. Walmart.com like 9 bucks a piece. Rearward facing drag tension so easy to adjust in rod holders. Ain't had the first minutes trouble. Text Chad and he can go look at em and tell you the exact model. I actually ordered em but can't remember what they were.

I use low profile baitcasters. Mostly Shakespeare Axiom or Shakespeare Sigma's. Usually get them at Wally World for $25-$30

Grizzly had some clearance Quantum low profile baitcasters for $25. They felt to be of solid quality in the store.
Zebco 202 and 404 reels work great for me. I'll get at least a year, sometime year and a half out of them, and cost anywhere from 7 to 12 bucks apiece at Wally World!!
