Went out yesterday afternoon with wife and daughter.
Water temp 75 when we got there and found 71 in a shaded cove. No fish on shallow brush. Spawn is done. Moved out to deeper water and fished a pvc stake bed in 12'. I could have filled a 55 gallon drum with 6" fish. Barren should be full of keepers in a year or two.
If fishing had been the focus I would have started pulling cranks or heading to some deeper brush but we anchored up and got little girl her first fish on her Frozen rod. I must have through it right on top of a little fiddler's head cause no sooner I put the rod in her hand than she is reeling in a fish.
At any rate. Cats didn't really bite that well and our fishing adventure turned into a bubble blowing and boat riding adventure. The wind layed down right before the sun went down and the lake was pretty well empty so we took a ride out around the islands before packing it in for the day.
Baby girl ate the last boloney and cheese sammich from J&L and was asleep soon after that.
Great report! Great job making memories with your precious little girl. I'm about ready to do the same with both my kids.
