Default Guys, I'm itching to go fishing!!!!

Can't wait to chase the crappie and gills/ears!! I'm going to do some scouting for spots, especially on KY Lake since I rarely fish over there. I'm much more familiar with North Barkley.

Anyway, cabin fever is in full blown mode here, I'm itching to get down to my fishing trailer!!! Oh, I also saw where a three plus pound crappie was caught this week on KY Lake.

Now isn't that just ironic ...

This is "crappie".com ... And this is the Ky forum ...

And this is the 1st mention of a 3lb crappie being caught this weekend ...

I think I may head to Barkley tomorrow. Looks like the weather for next three days are going to be too nice to pass up.

Hey Rickie, my wife showed me the Facebook mention on her feed. I think it's just a picture of the guy holding the fish. It might be on Kentucky Lake's Facebook page.

Troy, you're not missing anything here right now. I was out Sat and Monday afternoon. Sat was a total zero on crappie for us. Had 4 nice keepers plus a couple big white bass Monday but the fish are stacked in cover and I needed dynamite to get them out. Vertical jigging is not my thing but some guys have been doing OK. The longline bite should pick up soon but they have all the gates open at KY and Barkley dams right now and the water temp was 48.1 at 5 pm Monday in a major creek. Hopefully it will pick up soon if they would shut down the current.

Pffftt ... heck if I know ... I've never had a reason to use a scale with an "official state seal" on it

Thanks Doug, I know it's a bit early. I find myself watching you tube videos of folks catching crappie on KY Lake to pass the time.lol. I'll come by and chat with you in the near future if you don't mind.

I'm hoping like crazy I can finally have you mount a big male cracker for me too. I just take pictures of the fish from all angles?? Or would you prefer the real deal.

Not as many options on replica redears. The real thing will be best. Take a bunch of pics of both sides as soon as you catch it so I can match the paint job. Markings on redears are not as colorfast as on crappie.
