    Default 3 days on Barkley

Went after Bluegill and crappie, water went from 71 to 75. Only caught 1 crappie tried jig an minnows. Even fished 2 nights under lights. Bluegill better, caught 25 each morning, wax worms did better than jigs or jigs tipped with wax worms. 4 red ears, caught most 5 feet of water sitting in 10 feet casting to them. Afternoons were not good. First time on lake, so we aren't experts.

Thx for the report. Don't spend much time on Barkley, maybe somebody here will give some advice. Glad you were able to catch some gills. I'm finding crappie on the creek channels. If you have good electronics just run the creeks and see what depth you are observing fish but I'm pulling cranks. Maybe a jig guy will chime in. Have a good day.

The bite seems a lil off this year for some reason really had to work hard for them this week as well! We were there from Wednesday to today had our best day yesterday in the rain! Gills bit was good but the red ear were few and fare between caught about 20 in four days! We tiled jigs with bees mouth and used some red worms here and there in 4 to 5ft of water! Here's a few pics from the trip!

Nice pictures Indy! I've decided I really need to come up with some new spots, it's been a tough redear season for me. We've caught a few nice ones but just haven't caught any numbers. I'm going to build some fish attractors with redear in mind...going to put some work into this.

Haven't fished for bluegill or redear, I've still been catching good numbers of crappie along drops in 12-17 ft of water. Me and my dad caught 20 today.
