With the wind and water rising, KY is FULL of trash from the banks (leaves, sticks, garbage) and from the oak trees. We tried to longline Monday afternoon and Tuesday and while we caught several keepers, the trash on the lines constantly had to cost us chances at a bunch of fish.

We had several boats come up to us yesterday morning and cry about having not caught any crappie for days. Personally, I'm not going back on either lake for a few days.

Fished Mon. & Tues with very few fish. Hit a cedar fence post and bought knocked a hole in the boat and got caught in the motor. Very dangerous because the wood has been soaking for a while and you can't see it coming. Water is high and fast with no fish holding on brush. I am sitting it out for a few days also. Different this year to say the least!!

Fished a couple hours Monday on Barkley, caught 4. Fished 2 hours Tuesday, the water came up about a foot! Didn't catch a fish, The wind was howling too! I found some fish on a point but couldn't sit there with the wind blowing so hard!

I talked with my neighbor Tuesday and he and his brother had just got back from Ky Lake on Sunday.

He said they caught a total of about 50 crappie and bluegill and had been there all last week.

I consider them to be pretty good crappie guys. They don't spider rig but they usually do very well casting, jigging, and trolling.

Water is pretty high but looks fairly clear on ky in the bays. Came to check on the camper. Plan to fish tomorrow and have a report.

Is Barkley still muddy, how deep are you finding them? Worse spring I've ever had for crappie fishing. Maybe it will be good for the fish since a lot of them didn't get caught this year. Hopefully it will be a good spawn if they will hold the water for awhile.

Still Muddy out here in the Little River Area, strange year for me too, one or two here and there, never any four, five or six from same hole? I caught a couple nice ones last night just before the rain, about 4 fow on structure, all on minnows.
