Public can learn more about fisheries issues in western Kentucky during Jan. 15 meeting
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources will conduct a public meeting Jan. 15 to discuss fisheries issues affecting western Kentucky.
While the primary focus will be on crappie and bass fishing in Barkley and Kentucky lakes, officials will also provide updates on Asian carp, habitat projects, catfish and paddlefish. Kentucky Fish and Wildlife employees also want to hear from the public on these topics.
This meeting is being held at the Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park Convention Center in Gilbertsville at 7 p.m. (Central time).

Any chance someone will record this meeting and post it here at a later date? Would really like to know whats going on with that whole area.
I'll be there if at all possible. I wonder if the single pole folks will show up? Not hearing anything on the street.

Hey guys, just real quick. I am staff limited and covered up with job duties. This meeting will start out broad. Sportfish (crappie, bass etc) populations in KY and Barkley lakes will be discussed. Results of the crappie stocking project (2009-2013) in Blood River will be mentioned. Other management strategies can be discussed, and why they are not likely to work at our lakes. We can discuss pole limits, but it is not something that is on our proposed management strategy for crappie. Concerns with crappie populations will be heard, and hopefully preceptions can be debunked. Asian Carp issue will be discussed. If you have specific questions, please feel free to post them on this sting, and we can be prepared to respond to them. I will be glad to post some minutes on here after the meeting.
