Anybody? dont worry if We dont do well fishing I wont blame anyone
I want to plan a Crappie fishing weekend for myself and my better half, and know there are plenty of good waters to fish in Ky, but I am looking for whats your opinion of the best lake? where is a good place to stay? and when would the Fall bite be at its best? any more info like what part of the waters, lures, depths would help too. Thanks head of time, the Spring bite up here was dismal due to wind and cold, We are hoping to make it up this Fall, for what its worth I have a pt 175 Tracker set up for spider rigging. Oh yeah feel free to make some popcorn!![]()

As bad as crappie fishing is right now, it will surely get better when things start to cool down some. Last year we were murdering the crappie pulling cranks all the way into mid October when we switched back over to longlining curly tails.

Thanks for the reply Mrdux, but We can wait for the Fall bite to pick up, Ky lake, Green river lake and Reel foot are the lakes that come to mind when I think Ky Crappie, just need some advise on where ,when and where to stay?
I'm a regular on Lake Cumberland but I'm planning a trip to Kentucky Lake this October. I plan on staying a few days and I'm looking for a small cottage/cabin. Anyone have any reccommendations for places to stay, particular marina's, restaurants, etc... Also, not looking for any favorite fishing holesbut would anyone be willing to recommend a creek or particular area of the lake that would be good for some night crappie fishing? Thanks in advance!
Check with Chris and George Onnybecker at Bee Springs Lodge. They are centrally located and some of the nicest folks you would ever want to do business with.

Thanks mrdux...Looking forward to the trip and getting to try out a different location.
For all you regulars out at KY and Barkley. Better fall crappie fishing, Blood creek on KY or Little River on Lake Barkley? Planning a fishing trip second week of October and just trying to work up a plan.
Might wanna check this out and meet some great people. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/kentu...shindig-dates/
