Default Lets be careful out there! Ky hunter shot.

I know this is not crappie fishing related but it does pertain to Ky outdoors and the fact that life is precious and can be lost in an instant. This news broke yesterday on another forum but the facts were very sketchy. The story is now coming together.

Seems 3 friends were turkey hunting yesterday in Clay County and encountered a trespasser . 2 of the 3 friends were trying to set up on what they thought was a gobbler but it ended up being another hunter who (as most say) didn't have permission to be on said property. Once the friends realized there was another hunter, they were walking toward him when the guy raised up and shot both of the friends. One of the friends died and the other may lose an eye and has a pellet in his brain. The 3rd friend watched the shooter run away from the scene. He had not been captured as of a few minutes ago.

The fellow who died was 28 years old with 2 small children and wife. He was well known and well thought of in his community.

My prayers go out to this family and to the law enforcement who have to deal with such cases. I hope swift justice is served. BTW, if the facts of this case play out as they are now being told, there is absolutely nothing about this case that could be called an "accident".

It's a very tragic situation, Griff was a great outdoors man, family man, and hard worker. He will be greatly missed by our entire community. Please pray for his family, they have endured tragedy after tragedy over the years.

The shooting may have possibly been an accident but running away from the scene certainly wasn't. Hope they catch the guy. Be careful out there people. Lots of idiots in this world without sense enough to pack weapons.
Prayers go out for those that were shot & their families.
