If the weather stays warm, next week should be a dandy. Most of the larger bluegill and redear have been staging along points in front of coves. Wednesday and Thursday they seemed to be deeper, but Friday we began catching them in 7-8 feet of water in small cuts along the main shore. I believe they are starting to head that way. My spring break will be over tomorrow so I'm off the lake until next weekend. I hope you guys do well.

We had a tough time with the crappie the last 4 days so we mostly fished for the crackers. We had a blast with the panfish. We caught a few crappie and channel cats and smallmouth bass on ultralights along with a lot of shellcrackers and bluegills. We just got back yesterday.

That's a dinner plate shellcracker right there. Where'd you catch him, Barkley? Those two lakes down there are producing some trophy shellcracker. It seems like a ten inch shellcracker is fairly common with the trophies going 12-13 inches. I'll bet there's some shellcracker in those lakes close to 3lbs.
