If you work for em they are there. I have fished deep early and then moved shallow. Blacks seem to be starting the spawn. G/L

I tell you, I fished hard the past two days. Fought winds way to strong to be out fishing in and had very dismal results. Most everyone else I talked with was struggling as well. I'm sure it's like anything, someone was catching them somewhere. I just never found that "somewhere" I tried pulling, spider rigging and even casting a road runner. For the two days we caught "10" crappie, one 4lb cat, two green carp, one stripe and one drum. Gonna have a heck of a fish fry with that mess. Gonna play a game when they are all fried up and see who can name the species they are eating, lol!

I can't figure out why things weren't better today. I was reading water temps around 58 degrees. Think end of next week I'll be coming down with some kind of illness, it should be busting wide open by then.

I sum it up this way....Days like today are necessary so you can really appreciate the days you wear them out. At least that's what I keep telling myself and my son.

Spider Rigged this evening and only had 2 keepers. Both were just getting in the bays. Almost no color when we took them out of the water. Marking alot of fish scattered just not an aggressive bite yet.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

We caught 6 yesterday, all males but only 1 black. It seems kinda weird that none were females. They were caught on a shelf breaking down from 9 to 16 FOW. Half were caught on electric chicken plastic jig while the other 3 were caught on a microspoon tipped with a Berkley Maggot.

A guide I know has limited 2 days in a row.......man those guides are tight lipped!!!LOL Had one black male shallow and was kinda light but later when I took him out of the livewell he was way black! Caught a bunch of those dang green carp too! And my daily drum!

My Dad and I had 9 keepers Thursday afternoon. We caught all of them in 5-15 fow spider rigging with Lake Fork jigs tipped with minnows. They were all males. Water temp was still 58 or below.

Me and the bro in law caught 39 Tuesday then went back yesterday and had 20. We fished Barkley 10-15 ft over brush with jigs.
