Default looking for a guide for Kentucky lake

Hey guy's Me and my dad are wanting to take a fishing trip down to Kentucky Lake the last week of March or the first week in April. I talked to a gentlemen at the Kentucky Beach Resort about staying there. Is this a good place to stay? We want to get a guide for three days of fishing. Do you guy's know of anybody that is still available for that time? If so can you give me some contact info?
    Thanks for the info!

We aren't allowed to say anything bad about businesses on here so I won't say anything about the guy from WI who owns KY Beach Resort and I won't tell you that I have heard many other people who won't say anything about that place and how they treat customers. Personally I now stay at the state resort parks. Usually I stay at Kenlake State Resort Park because they have plenty of plug ins to charge the batteries. As far as guides, I don;t keep up with them but I would question how good they are if they are available for that time of the year unless you get lucky during the middle of the week. If you have a boat go fish Blood River on a Saturday and/or Sunday and look for the fifty to one hundred boats and fish near them. The fish will be close.

Thanks Jigboy! We were hoping to fish a few days with a guide to get how to fish the lake before we went out in our boat. We heard the guides were already booked but I was hoping there would be someone on here that would know of someone with an opening even if it was during the week.
    Thanks

You might give Andy Allen a call. Don't know if he's booked solid or not, but it would be worth a try. Andy primarily guides on Lake Barkley, but does guide on Ky Lake from time to time, all the way down to the Big Sandy area. He's one of the best crappie fishermen in the area and very consistent in finding fish. Andy can be found in the phone listings for Cadiz, KY. If Andy is booked, he might be able to put you on to a good local fisherman who would guide for you.

    Hi Matt,

You might check with Susan at Irvin Cobb to see if they have any cabins available. Her and John are good people but are often booked that time of year. I am one of the guides that work out of the Cobb. I have taken people out of Kentucky Beach but not very often as online and Cobb bookings are usually enough for me.

I often have people stay in town that time of year as things are booked at the lake. The Best Western at the north end of Murray has a few spots with outside electric for charging. They meet me at Irvin Cobb (The marina is now called Sugar Creek Marina) or at Wildcat Boat Ramp and fish from there. Both are easy to access from Murray.

As far as available time I might be able to help you a little. I have to confirm dates and times with people that already have me booked. Check and see what is available room wise and drop me a private message and we will talk. I have other businesses so my guiding dates are limited. I want everyone to have a good time so even if I am busy I will do all I can to point you guys in the right direction and get you started off right.

I also stay at Ken lake alot and fish Blood River. If Old Guide is unavailable you might try John Morgan. He guides primarely on Blood River and he knows Blood as good as anyone. You can get contact info at Angling adventures guide service. He's probibally booked but might be able to hook you up with someone else. I've seen him clean alot of fish at the Cobb.

I agree the people at Irvin Cobb are great. They helped me out when I needed it with places to stay. They treat you like people should be treated. Because of that I always launch from there and give them a little of my money each and every time I am at Blood River.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
