    Default Barkley Lake

I have been out on Barkley and only been finding small fish in shallow cover-stakebeds and deadfalls. Haven't had much luck on the ledges or deep brush yet with keepers. Anyone been doing any good?

I fished the North end of Kentucky Lake hard last week. I was out at daylight Mon., Tue., and Fri., also fished Thur. evening. I fished the ledges with minnows, threw some jigs, trolled, vertical jigged , fished shallow, deep, in between etc. and only caught a keeper or two each day. The Yellow Bass weren't even biting very good.I spoke with some of the neighbors and they had the same results.I didn't go over to Barkley, but the people that did said they didn't do any good there either. Might try again next week.

Can't you help you out but I could ask for help. I fished Ky lake Spring and didn't do very well. Not really what I'm used to and was wondering if Barkley fished differently with all the visible cover? I have Bass fished it and wondered if the Crappie are in the Buck Brush and Willows the way the bass are? What about Eddy Creek? Thanks.

I usually don't fish the Buck Brush and Willows much except in the Spring, and didn't do very well this Spring due to the high water. I mostly fish the ledges on the Northern part of Kentucky Lake, or will occasionally go down to the Blood River area, or sometimes will cross the canal, and fish the Northwest Barkley area. As for Eddy Creek, It's been a long time since I fished there, I keep thinking of going there, but never seem to make it.

Thanks, fishing the ledges is not very practical for us "out of towners". That's why i like to go in the Spring.
