    Default dock thief lake barkley

    Guys-

Just wanted to let you know that my Lund fishing boat was stripped at my boat dock on Eddy Creek near Holiday Hills.

I have a house with a dock down there. I live in Newburgh, Indiana.

Wednesday I received the registration and operating manuals in the mail from a gentleman in Princeton. He found the tackle box these were in floating in the water near Coleman Bridge. He was kind enough to dry the paperwork out and mail it to me from the address on the registration. Thanks.

I thought I've either had those out and they've blown out, someone has stolen my boat, or someone has stripped the boat.

I got here Thursday night and found 7 poles and reels stolen from the locked rod locker, the Minnkota Power Drive V2 trolling motor (70# thrust) and connected humminbird 565 bow mount sonar, the starting battery, and the AM/FM cd from the dash gone.

They even took the cold weather clothes and transom straps from the other rod locker.

The trolling motor has everything- it is 70# thrust with ipilot. If you see or hear of one of these were it doesn't belong (like on a 12' jon boat) PM me. The serial number is J089MK01715.

The transom straps have "Henry's Marine- Chicago, IL" monogram on them. If you see a boat at the dock latching down with these, you might be wary.

    Thanks

    Brook

I will watch for these items. You cant have anything anymore without it being under lock and key what a shame.

That sucks - sorry to hear. I've learned the hard way not to leave much in a boat, even under lock and key. Guess you've now learned the same lesson.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. This day and time, with the wealth of "meth monsters" around, you can expect anything you own to be targeted. An unoccupied house and dock are easy targets to those who watch for such. I personally think we should be able to booby-trap our belongings with thermo-nuclear devices so the thieves will only steal one time.

    Default Thanks for the thoughts

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I've decided to offer a $500 cash reward for info leading to an arrest.

The Ipilot might throw somebody for a loop and send them searching for information. I still have the controller. It was around my neck when I left last Saturday.

I'm going to put an ad in the Eddyville newspaper and signs up in local bait shops etc.

    Hear anything PM me.

    Thanks again.

    Jim

Might have the local police contact Minn Kota and Humminbird with the serial numbers and models of those items. I doubt it will lead to much, but you never know. They might take them in for service at some point and lead you back to the thief.

Let's use a small neutron bomb so only the thief gets fried but the equipment is still good!

PS Sorry to hear about the theft. they hit on both lakes.

I tryed the camera deal. Won't work unless the air temp is probally below 50-60 degrees. Works on infra red. Had a lot of tools stolen out of a building on 10 acres. Spent $500 but it would not take pictures when the temp was high. Check on security cameras that will work at all temp's.

Let us know if you use something like this.
