Guys, I seldom get to fish the great Ky. Lake, and this may not be the problem there, but I do believe that a lake can turnover in the spring. About the same thing happened to me on Barren a few years ago. I was filling the boat full one day, just to go back a few days later to zero on all these brushpiles that I had been having good luck on. The lake had that dreaded coffee color look to it too. A few days a later I hooked up with a friend who guided me to another area of the lake that looked a lot better, this was after trying my spots again with no luck. Its hard to abandon a area after having so much good luck, but I learned a good lesson that day.

    Cool Turnover

I don't believe the lake has "turned over." You just don't see turnover in a river system lake that has had as much "new water" as we've had the last few months.

Just the opinion of an ol'riverman.

Here's a link to this month's trends in the lake.

Boy I am glad to hear that I am not the only one having the same problems. I worked really hard Saturday and ended up with 13 keepers and I was really really disappointed. I have been fishing shallow, med depth, deep water, tipping with minnows, crappie nibbles - just doesn't seem to be working. A week ago I was catching some good size fish shallow and this past weekend I couldn't hardly catch a fish out of those same stakebeds. We have been catching lots of short fish as well - my dad fished one day last week and caught at least 75 fish with only 7 keepers.

Wiskers, I feel sure that you will find them - we have seen some of really nice pics of fish that you have found (keep em comin).

    Good Luck,
