    Default Caught a few today.

My son and I fished Kentucky Lake today, the bite was a little tough but we managed to catch some nice ones.

Dang nice catch, I have been skunked with nothing but dinks for the past two days. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

    Thumbs up Boy that's great

Man that's great. Nothing like setting in the boat with your boy and catch'n fish. Do it all you can. He'll be out on his own before you know it.

Both my sons have gone off and started a family of their own. The oldest is in the Army and the youngest works all the time. Today the youngest and I are get'n in the boat together for the first time in a couple of years. I hope I can get us on fish so he'll wanta do it more often! Pressure's on.

Tomorrow I'm taking Jeramy. Some of you know about him. The boy that lost his mother and has no dad. Wife and I have kinda adopted him. His birthday is Monday and he'll be 19. He came over last night for supper and we fed him a steak for his birthday. All he does is go to school and work too. He sure is pumped about Monday!

Just a few observations made while fishing yesterday. There were a lot of boats on the water, and most were doing a lot of running around. We stayed in the same stretch of water all day. Fished from about 0800 am till 4:30 pm.

We fished four rod's each, three were jig's tipped with minnows and one was rigged with a double minnow set up. We caught very few fish on the double minnow rig. Just about everyone around us fishing minnow's only didn't do very well. The water was very stained, around 45 degrees, so we experimented with various color combo's. Didn't take us long to discover the fish really were turned on by orange chartruese. We caught a few on Yellow/Chart (thanks Wiskers for the recommendation) but 7 out of 10 came on the orange.

This weeks forecast calling for milder temps and rain should make water temps increase and the fishing to get better.

I did enjoy the day fishing with my son, you always hear people say they grow up fast........here is proof.

Wow! What a change! Keep it up. I remember fishing with my dad on Kentucky Lake when I was young. They are some of the fondest memories that I have in my life. I hope to get my kids down there several times this year.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Looks like a great day to me this early in the season. Nothing beats taking the boys out on the water. I struggle with time on the water with mine do to sporting events on school activities but we really enjoy it when we do go together. We head to Weiss in two more weeks so hopefully that will prodice some good pics to display to the group.
