    Default Sauger Fishing

Has anyone been sauger fishing or going this weekend. Looks like Saturday will be pretty nice.

May try to go Saturday. Haven't heard of anyone on this end fishing for them.
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!

    Default Saturday Sauger

I imagine that I'll be there Saturday trying them out but I'm still undecided on where to go.

I went to Meldahl dam on the Ohio river and the fish were scattered all over but not much being caught, a few here a few there, I went on the ohio side in the locks and most of the boats were drifting around, but on the end of the first lock aproach were boats stacked on top of each other fishing in about 30 feet of water, catching most of the sauger on the end of the wall in a breakline or eddy of water. In the afternoon the water was graphing 34.5 up here. I caught one nice sauger and some whitebass in a creek mouth, but it was nice to get out.

Went today below Barkley Dam, fished about an hour no bites and didn't mark any fish.
That north wind was hammering right up the river.

    Default Sunday

    Hey Guys:
I fished KY Dam Sunday from noon until about five and had my limit long before then. The fish would turn on and then off just as fast as they started. I caught a lot of short fish but ended up with six nice ones.
My jigs of preference were 1 1/2 ounce Chart. head/ chart. tail. Lost all of those and fininshed with 1 1/2 ounce orange head/ chart. tail, all tipped with minnows.
