    Default Little River

Has anyone started fishing around Little River and if so how is the fishing. I'm almost ready to go but I need a good report to set me on fire. Thanks in advance.

Looks like no one is fishing yet. I hope to be finished with my boat this week and start fishing next week. Good luck to all and be safe.

Im not sure but if I was a bettin' man Id say the licking river is at least pretty muddy but id say not up much yet. Id say main lake is still clear color, prob up a lil. I bet this rain drops the temps some, sure hope so, we might get lucky and get an extended fall fishin season this year b/c of the mild temps. Maybe we will run into each other down there downwind. By then work will be slow for me anyways so if the fishin is good then I might stay a lil longer than expected and maybe go for some mixed bags in some diff. places, maybe sauger if they start to bite a lil below the dams. Its still a while off, my luck we will get a month long monsoon and hot weather....

I walked down to the dock last night and pitched jigs. I caught a little of everything, but the important thing was I caught a few keepers around the post of the dock. It looks like we are ready to launch the boat. I'll get back to ya'll.

Would your dock be close to deep water? Have most luck fishing around and up in docks that have some deeper water near by.

Not really. The creek channel makes a bend, and the mouth of my cove is in the outside bend of that channel. There are about four docks in my cove and the deepest water is about 6 fow.
I am new to the area and have only fished this area in the last year. So, pretty much, I have had a full year to figure out that I have not found the fish. Last spring was tough, probably the toughest I have dealt with. By the time I would find the fish, the water would rise two feet and a cold front would blow in.

    Default Frustration

For the last six or seven days I have fished after work in the afternoon for about 2 hours a day. Now here is the problem, everyday that I have gone, with the exception of Sunday, I have not hooked but pulled many up but only to watch them let go of my jig and fall back to Davie Jones' locker. It is like they are only biting the skirt and I think I have tried everything to get a good hook set.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? It may just be that they prefer live bait, but this is getting ridiculous.
