Thread: Cave Run 9-6-09

Had the bug so I went to Cave Run. Went up river for a little change of scenery and to avoid the big crowd. Put in at Bangor and fished this afternoon. Caught around 25 crappie and a couple nice bluegills, kept 10 or so for supper. Most of em were white crappie w/ a couple blacks. Not any big fish, mainly 10-11". Caught em about 10' deep in 15-20 fow. Caught a few on a top in about 6 fow 3ft down. Had best luck w/ minnows on slip bobber. Water temp was 79, water looked good and lotsa schools of good sized shad schooled up near channel. Good luck.

When u gonna be up there this week? I gotta lot of work to do for the next few days but Im gonna try to slip off at least one evening to night fish down on the main lake w/ my dad and uncle and maybe go one morning up the river by myself. So far been finding better fish on the main lake but love to piddle around up river. By the way, If anyone is looking for some good minnows stop by Mike's there at Scott Creek, hes had some nice big 2 1/2" + tuffys that will stay alive on the hook really good for this time of year and he usually hooks u up generously.
