I made an aluminum and wood bracket for my sit in yak for this.

I haven't tried making a bracket for the sit on.
Any recommendations? Also, what's the best way to mount the transducer? (I've seen some fisherman mount them inside the storage compartments in the past)

I wanted something easy and portable. I bought one of those ammo boxes and put the battery inside and attached a Ram mount on top to be able to attach and de-attach the unit to. Then drilled a couple holes plugged with rubber grommets, one for transducer cord out the side, and one for the unit on top.
For mounting the transducer: I use one of those YakAttak tube style rod holders which slides onto the track mounted on the top left side of my kayak. Then I used one of those flexible bendy bungee type of things where you can bend them around something. I run the transducer through the rod holder and attach at desired angle and depth with flexible bungee thing.
I love it because the whole set up can be easily stored, used in my other kayaks, or elsewhere, and requires no drilling or gluing in my kayaks. Best of all I like having the unit itself on a movable ram holder right at my feet to where I can easily adjust angle, view screen or touch any controls.
My description may sound complicated but it was actually very simple to make and easy to use.

Just be mindful that any side imaging must be unobstructed. Down image and sonar will work through hull.

I'm no fish finder expert, but I bought a Garmin Striker 4CV for my kayak a few weeks ago. I mounted it inside the hull with Goop adhesive. I have no complaints so far.

I recently purchased a Wilderness Ride 115X which is rigged for a Lowrance fish finder. Has anyone installed a different fish finder in a Ride rigged for a Lowrance fish finder? if so, what did you use to install the transducer? Thanx Pop
I have a Garmin Striker 4 CV on my Native. The only issue I have had is with the way I mounted the transducer in the hull. I just bought a Scotty transducer mount but havent had the time to set it up yet. I will need to modify the transducer bracket to fit on the mount. Either way, I'm hoping to see how the new setup works in a few weeks. Its about time to start getting in a little fishing time.
My issues were with my mounting "system." I attempted to make a copy of Garmins in-hull transducer mount using materials from the body shop i work at. (i cut closed cell foam so the transducer had a recess and sealed the foam to the hull. It required water in the recess with the transducer to work) It worked fine at first but temp changes, water, and jolts made the foam separate from the hull. Perhaps i should have tried that duct seal. This is my first depth finder of any sort so i am no expert. lol! I didnt even really get the hang of it before the foam came loose and my readings disappeared. This cool weather has me in overdrive trying to get the new setup ready for the water.
