I only own a scupper cart, and it can be a problem to get it mounted without turning your kayak over onto its side. That may not be a problem, but I have a battery and other stuff that dumps out when I have to do this-it is a PITA. If you can get a cart that you can place your yak on without having to turn it over, then strap it down tightly, you might be better off. I can't keep my yak upright while getting the scupper rods through the scupper holes from underneath-it is almost a two-person task.

My nucanoe has channels/ tunnels running the full length of the haul,it also has scupper holes. To my understanding the scupper holes are susceptible to damage if used for cart alignment. My cart utilizes the channels/ tunnels,in the bottom of the kayak, the cart is self aligning via homemade arms covered with pool noodles.I can send a pic if you want to see my cart.

I made a DIY version of the Trail Tracker kayak cart and it works real well and easier to load and hook up on the kayak than my other cart which is over $100 new. I made my Trail Tracker style cart with used lawnmower tires I had and Pex tubing and fittings along with a big pool noodle and a round rod from Home Depot a few washers and keepers. Attached is a link to a video of the Trail Tracker cart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlIZsujwV-o
