    Default First Kayak

I have been researching kayaks in my price range have narrowed it down to two A Sit in and a Sit on. 1st one A Pelican Trailblazer Angler and A Pelican Boost Angler also looking at a Old Town Vapor 10 but a little out of my price range. Now I would like opinions on both the pelicans and your thoughts on the vapor. I plan to fish in The Wateree River here in South Carolina so would like an opinion on the safety factor of all three. Thanks for any info in advance.

I have been considering a kayak also. I bought my grandkids a Pelican Angler sit in and one thing I learned is a sit on top is much easier to get in and out of. I think most of the ones I've seen on the forum use sit on tops. I really like the Pelican Catch 120. It is not the cheapest one but it has a lot of features of ones costing much more.
Still on the fence but I think I would enjoy it.
    Good luck.

The Pelican Catch 120 could be a winner for you, especially as a first kayak. Different folks have different feelings about their kayaks but when your happy with what you
have, that counts a lot. Looks good to me and don't forget the old adage, you get what you pay for. Post up a photo of your decision and use the heck out of it. Might just
be the best decision you ever made.

Can I make a suggestion? Check out the Heritage Featherlite Angler 9.5. It's a sit in, very basic kayak. We bought one for visitors and finally used it some last weekend. Three different folks used it, and everybody loved it. It's only 39 pounds and $269 at Academy Sports.

I have checked out the Heritage Featherlite Angler 9.5. They weren't in stock. I have been holding off purchasing a kayak to see if they restock the heritage but the two I mentioned are on sale and I do not know how long they will stay on sale. So I really need to make my mind up on what to do.
