    Decided on the Lowrance X-4 for $84.00 at Cabela's. Working on installing it now along with the Lowrance scupper hole transducer mount.
    So far, so good.

    That's a good shot of a FF that might be wider than the crappie is long.

    Or, maybe they are the same. I measured it and it was close.
    I don't know enough about fishfinders to recognize what kind it is. Good post.

    What kind of batteries are you all using especially with the HB Piranahs.

    in my yak i'm using 8aa batteries right now. but i'm going to be getting a sealed 12v 7ah battery this week

    my 997 is a juice hog,,, I use a small Vector jumpbox ta power it...

    7AH Gel Cell (AGM) MinnKota (from Amazon.com). I bought 2 at the same time, and can use the other for my ReelLite.

    GPS is the way to go if ya looking for Crappie. You can mark all the structure to fish other times. My HB 365i GPS/FF Combo helps out a lot when looking for them slabs down deep. Name:  Fishing.jpg
