    Default Cracked transducer

I noticed my Lowrance Elite7 with DSI transducer housing has a 3 inch crack in it. I did not notice any issues with the locator functions last time out on the lake last month. Should I epoxy over the crack to keep water out and freezing this winter or just buy a new transducer?

Dan I suggest you purchase a new transducer, better than not having it giving you problems out on the lake.

I would seal it with some good marine sealant and keep using it and look for a deal on a spare.

Personally, I would get a new transducer. If it were to short out and somehow damage your unit, that could cost a lot more than the transducer itself.

Epoxy or fiberglass will probably make a decent repair but you might talk to Lowrance customer service and ask their advice.

Purchase a new one. Nothing like having something rigged up and the it quits working when you really need it..

Milk it for all it's worth with some epoxy. It won't short out and hurt the head unit. If it starts to give you poor returns get another one.
